Ode to the Parabola Who Loved Too Much

Ode to the Parabola Who Loved Too Much
She curved like Aphrodite’s sigh,
A graceful arc against the sky,
Her axis tilted just off-right,
In moonlit dreams of Euclid’s night.
She whispered secrets to a line,
But he was fixed—she loved a sine.
“Let’s intersect,” she dared to say,
But he just ticked his graph away.
A mossy sage with roots in pi,
Said, “Child, the heart’s no alibi.
Infinity loops, but still we yearn—
Each asymptote a twist, a turn.”
She danced through functions, undefined,
With limits love could never bind.
A scribbled proof, a theorem lost—
She loved, unmeasured, without cost.
So if you glimpse a lonely graph
That hums in ancient Greek and laughs,
Just know: beneath her curve so wide
A broken-hearted slope still hides.
